Should You Rebuild Your Website or Improve the One You Have?

A decision checklist for choosing between targeted updates, selected page improvements, and a full website rebuild.

A rebuild is useful when the current website structure no longer supports the business. It is excessive when the real problem is a stale offer, changed hours, an outdated FAQ, or one weak page.

Improve instead of rebuilding when

  • The main pages are in the right place but copy is unclear.
  • Only contact details, hours, availability, offers, or FAQs are stale.
  • A single service page needs stronger examples or calls to action.
  • The site platform still works for staff and visitors.

Rebuild or restructure when

  • Navigation no longer matches services.
  • Important pages are missing.
  • The homepage cannot explain the current business.
  • The mobile experience or layout prevents visitors from acting.
  • A major business pivot requires a different customer journey.

Decide what your website needs

Determine whether you need a new draft, a page revision, or a smaller ongoing update.
